Organic globules found in a meteorite that slammed into Canada's Tagish Lake may be older than our sun, a new study says.

The ancient materials could offer a glimpse into the solar system's planet-building past and may even provide clues to how life on Earth first arose.

Intersting find. Though I feel the conclusions being drawn are highly speculative and probably shouldn't be made at this time. It just gives more fuel for people like Bill who have no grasp of reality.

A lotta "could be" and "appears" and "might" there. I think I'll reserve comment until more is known about it.

Never the less, it is a very interesting find.

Interesting, but also very frustrating. They did not name a single organic compound found in the meteorite.

A lot of folks who watch TV news or read newspapers might assume "organic" always means some sort of living thing or component of life. In the most basic sense, organic compounds are carbon combined with another element and therefore can be found in both life as well as non-living matter.

Diversity, independence, innovation and imagination are progressive concepts ultimately alien to the conservative mind.
