Searching the internet like an ADD Spider Monkey I tripped upon this site and a post from 2005 I tried to resurrect it however the search engine did not like going back that far

My question is this was all posted about ten years ago and Ozone is still being used as are alot of other quackery medicine however I have seen a benefit with my wife who has Chronic Lyme but, could it be placebo ?

Looks like this is a group of diligent researchers and I am curious about any new thoughts on this subject.....FYI one of the websites quoted from way back then is still in use.....guess there are certain things you can just always make money on like people with an illness they cannot find a cure for.....really sad

Thoughts on Ozone treatments real or scam ?

It could be a placebo. Yes. Lacking evidenced (science) based support, it's even likely.

I can't go into specifics about ozone because I don't know much about it as a treatment for anything, really. I understand that it's an alternative treatment, but what does that mean? To me it means that efficacy hasn't been established, and given that it's been used therapeutically for a very long time, that causes my skeptical alarms go off. Or worse, it's been shown to be ineffective. Perhaps someone can chime in here with more specifics, but I'll leave you with a couple of links to sites that I trust and which might be helpful to you:

Ozone is a powerful oxidizer. Sure, pure oxygen is too. However, biological processes are balanced toward using oxygen as an agent. As ozone is much more aggressive, it needs a lot less energy to initiate reaction, very great care needs to be taken in order for it not to be directly harmful. Biological processes aren't tuned to handle ozone, that's why I'm very skeptical about using it as a treatment for anything else but bleaching and removing nasty smells from fabrics.

As far as I know, 'chronic Lyme disease' has not been medically proven, so a placebo may be just the ticket.
