The Oatmeal has a good, long comic called "You're not going to believe what I'm about to tell you" about the psychological Backfire Effect. It may be a little wishful about the why, but not the what, though this is a good, general take-away:Just remember that your worldview isn't a perfect house that was built to last forever.
It's a cheap condo, and over time most of it will turn to shit.

It's one the the better Oatmeals. He also edited a version for classrooms, I think by request. Oh. I see that version is now provided as a choice by way of the link above. |
