One of my favorite quotes;

"Things went from bad... to free-thinking"
- James Burke, from "The Day the Universe Changed"

There is a science of music. It isn't just noise. And it isn't just acoustics.

Personally, I separate the world into people who like great music and those who don't. Those who think that it is easy do not know anything about it. Ignorance is bliss...

Einstein played the violin -- well. I understand that he would have given anything to be a concert violinist.

But that last is probably a mythical statement by a music lover and really doesn't count.

If you knew better, you would know better about music, too.

James Burke's book, *The Day the Universe Changed*, (in connection with the WTVS television series, *The Day the Universe Changed*) is a part of my library. I can understand why James Burke denigrated the arts, including literature.

People do better differently.
