It's amazing how damaging their sheep can be even in other countries. Now there're accessing political leaders directly without need for any PAC's or lobbyists, and what's worse, without any means for the people they're conning to find out the truth about what AIG presesnts. (not that they'd likely care anyway)

The new French revolution

by Michael Matthews, AiG–US

17 December 2002

AiG recently learned about an effort in Paris that could help plant the seeds for ‘revolution' in France—and all over Europe.

Tom Oeffinger, an American businessman who works for a Fortune 500 company, has been preaching on Sundays and has just finished hosting a Bible study in Paris on Tuesday nights—with AiG materials and our video series Answers … with Ken Ham. This unique ‘answers' ministry is reaching key leaders from numerous countries.
‘I am not at liberty to share with you their names (some of the Bible study attendees are in sensitive positions within their governments),' he told us, ‘but there are ten that consistently attend, representing six countries. The life application of what they are learning is making an impact—not only on their lives, but also in their countries—because they are sharing their knowledge.

‘After much prayer, we decided to present Genesis using Answers … with Ken Ham. It really struck at the hearts of the people and we can really see the growth! They have “consumed” all of our AiG magazines, “questions” series booklets, and are now into our book collection.'

‘But they need more. They want to know how to answer the difficult questions—to present the facts to combat the errors of the high “thinkers” of evolution—to make a positive impact on their family, friends and government back home.
‘We are so excited about the opportunity to be a part in laying His Foundational Truth in the hearts of others. Thank you for any assistance that you can give. Please remember us in prayer. Your Brother in Him,
Tom'

Is the 'big bang' a good scientific theory? What is the 'bottom line' issue when using the design argument? Does the second law of thermodynamics prove creation? What is the real problem for molecules-to-man evolution? Are there limits to natural selection? Have new species appeared?

With hundreds of pages of articles, over 10 hours of audio files and the complete video In the Image of God, AiG's newest multimedia product—Project 3:15—effectively equips you to answer such timely questions. This informational CD-ROM also contains the entire book Refuting Evolution 2. Project 3:15 will enable you to carry out the command issued in 1 Peter 3:15 to always be ready to give a 'defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you.'

MORE INFO / PURCHASE ONLINE
Among the materials that Tom requested was AiG's new Project 3:15 CD, which, he said, ‘I would like to share with pastors throughout France.' With the help of supporter donations, AiG was able to send him a large shipment of complimentary copies of this CD-ROM, along with other books, booklets and CD-ROMs.

Tom wrote back with a wonderful testimony of God's sovereignty:

‘Your material arrived one hour prior to our last study (God's perfect timing!). I wish that I had a video to share with you their reaction to your gift.

‘In this Christmas season, your gift is being distributed throughout Paris through the hands of people wanting to make an impact for Him—the sharing of His Truth by people with a heart, to people that are questioning. The attendance of the study is of an international nature, so the impact of your gift will be felt around the world. Thank you for your generosity.'

What brought that on? this. Original posting here.

Another example of this guy's lunacy here.

At least in continental europe I could observe this problem arise steadily.
German creationist society "Studiengemeinschaft Wort und Wissen" is even more dangerous to real science than the american groupings, because they really manage to do some scientific research that seems to prove creation or disprove evolution. Thus, european creationisms tends to be not only fundamentalistic, but also pseudo-scientific which makes it really hard to fight.

It seems very much as if we are getting "american circumstances" in Germany, Russia, Italy and - to a lesser extend - France.

Hail the Big bearded Jellyfish up in heaven above.

Hmph. That's ugly.

I had thought that by and large, Europeans were more resistant to this sort of crap. Guess not.

Filthy, I can only speak for Britain, but generally we are more resistant to this stuff. There is no established Creationist lobby here, and the main Christian Church (The Church of England) has not to my knowledge been infected with this stuff yet.

There was an outcry in a school earlier this year where the head teacher wanted to push Creationist ideas, but that is the only incident in main-stream education that I have heard of.

Of course, it is disturbing that 10 people who are apparently in government are being indoctrinated in this way (does anyone else find the whole language of that passage above incredibly creepy?), and it would be interesting to know where they are from.

Consider the quote ‘I am not at liberty to share with you their names (some of the Bible study attendees are in sensitive positions within their governments),' he told us ...".

Yes, certainly, we must keep their identity secret. The penalties for attending bible study classes in France are horrific.

Mr. Oeffinger is wildly overstating the significance of herding a half dozen European creationists into a room to watch Ken Ham videos. If that's the best he can do "to combat the errors of the high “thinkers” of evolution", there's little to worry about.

Ten people in sensitive positions? Is that ten code clerks from the
Ministry of Defence or ten janitors from EDF nuke plants or ten
drivers from the motor pool?

Or is it just a lie to inflate someone's importance and convince
the folks back home to give more money for the 'cause'.

I wonder if Tom Oeffinger is the same who was Engineering Director
for Global One:

which is no longer a Fortune 500 company, I believe.

Y'know, I think you're about right. The AiG is not famous for it's ethics. Here's a link that gives an in-depth look at them.

So their taking advantage of a situation that will allow them to brainwash people in Europe into giving them money so that they can build their museum. That building will be nothing more than a worthless place for creation enthusiasts to get together and preach to the world as a giant group. <sarcasm>Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!</sarcasm>

What a blessing to plant the seeds of Biblical revolution in men's hearts! Upholding the truth of God's Word about Creation and the Fall opens the door for men to receive God's promise of salvation through His Son, Emmanuel.

This scheme would probably seem a lot more sensible to me if I were wearing my Bible Glasses today but some greedy bastard stole them. Those Bible Glasses must really be a hot commodity.
