Well, it looks like the 9/11 Commission that was set up to investigate the heinous attacks in 2001 has caved in to White House pressure and compromised so that the Bush administration will be able to censor the Presidential Daily Briefs before they are handed over to the Commission. And even then, only 4 of the 10 commissioners will have access to them, to make notes. And then the notes will again be censored before any of the other 6 commissioners get to see them!

The story at the Daily Moron: Bush Administration Allowed to Censor Documents for 9/11 Commission

The story at the New York Times: Deal on 9/11 Briefings Lets White House Edit Papers

The story at the Washington Post: 9/11 Panel Reaches Deal On Access To Papers

I thought the 9/11 Commission was created to prepare a full and complete report on the attacks, including preparedness and the immediate response, and also to decide how best to avoid such attacks in the future. How are they supposed to do that if thay don't have full and complete access to the information they need?

This is a farce, a travesty of justice, ans I, for one, am outraged that this would be allowed to happen in connection to such an important matter. The Commission is just wasting their time!

Yes........

I no longer get upset at the subterrianian writhings of Bush & Co. More and more, the American populace is realizing just how badly we, and indeed the world, has been getting screwed.

If it keeps going as it is, a catfish would beat Bush next Nov, and not a particularly fresh catfish at that. I'm curious to see how the not-too-far-off, Iraqi bug-out is going to work. My understanding is that it's just entering the planning stage, and if it is as well planned as the war was, it will not be pretty.

By the bye, I'm expecting a full report from our British cousins on the incredably misadvised, even downright stupid, Bush visit to their fair land. While I rather doubt he'll be buried under a moderate-velocity, rotting cabbage barrage, as he so richly deserves, a first-hand report should still be interesting.
