Does anybody have a recommendation for a book on evolution? I am looking for a book explaining modern theories for a person without a biology degree. Thanks for any help.

'Unweaving the Rainbow' and 'Climbing Mount Improbable' by Richard Dawkins are good books for a basic intro to evolution.

Carl Sagan's Cosmos is a good one. It covers a lot more than evolution but it lays out the concepts very accesibly for the non-expert. It may be a little out-dated though. I think there was an updated version published in the late 80s / early 90s.
