I have been hearing about lots of people having issues logging onto this and other websites. I may have a solution. This is a bit of work but it may aid those of you wondering why things aren't working here and elsewhere on the web.
Spyware may be the problem. I have gone into Control panel --> Add remove Programs and removed:
Anything that says "Wild Tangent" Weather Bug Any cool free screen savers or the like They are all Spyware. If you don't know what it is, do a search on the web for it and find out. If it's spyware then remove it.
The go to www.lavasoftUSA.com and look for the free version of Adaware. Download, install and run this to find and remove spyware from your comouters. Run it at least once a month.
If you do this you may find that you can now log in. I have encountered many such instances of this recently and it has not just been for this website. Never install any free cool thingy without looking it up first. Many of these gifts are trojan horses that you may regret installing. Keep Adaware and all anti-virus up-to-date and you will have a better internet experience. It may seem like a hassle and it is but the alternative is far, far worse.

As a recent victim of 'sassa', I have taken advice from a pro. He endorsed 'Adaware', he also strongly reccomended this bunch: Zone Alarm - firewall Spy-Bot s&d - good company for adaware, in my opinion better than adaware AVG anti vrus - does what it says on the tin!
Google them for the free downloads! If you ain't got 'em, get 'em now!! |

In todays day and age, virus software and firewalls are so critical.
I am proud to say in 8 years of having an Internet connection that I have never been infected.....

Mistakes are a part of being human. Appreciate your mistakes for what they are: precious life lessons that can only be learned the hard way. Unless it's a fatal mistake, which, at least, others can learn from.

Stay off porn sites...DAMN! Most of them cost money anyway, that's what's stopped me but I'd sure like to be able to see all that stuff. But the real question is: I don't go on many websites anyway and I don't think the ones I do go on anyone would care, such as looking glaze recipes. But who knows, some of the chemicals in them are things one could use to make a bomb. There is one fairly new site I've been going to regularly and after clicking a few links on it, the computer frezzes and I have to reboot. Is that what you mean by 'having problems'? And I almost Never download anything, even things that people I know send me. If one doesn't download, then they can't get that spy thingie? |
