Trying to get back on topic, in Sweden the Social Democrats are in power, and to an ignorant American the politics of Social Democrats would probably be labelled communism. The idea that all men are created equal, the state should provide free health service and education for all, and that people should contribute to society after their ability: If some are more able than others, then they should contribute more, for the benefit of all. |

Actually, we'd term them Democrats round here. The goals of the Social Democrats sound a lot like the platforms of the Democratic party in this country. Although some Republicans do call Democrats commies, pinkos, scum, anti-Christ, etc. |
