Here's an observation that I mean sincerely [even though when I told my husband, he did a spit take]

There have been many photos and videos of Terry Schiavo on TV recently, both before and after her tragic seizure. I noticed that before her seizure, she was a babe, and dressed very fashionably. If it were true that she still retains some awareness and ability to communicate, would she not have fought them when they tried to dress her in those horrid shirts with the Peter Pan collars?

She had an eating disorder. She puked her body into a chemical imbalance that stopped her heart. She suffered a hypoxic brain injury as a result of extended time with no pulse/breathing.

People do not recover from significant hypoxic brain injuries.

I have heard about her problem being that her heart stopped because of the chemical imbalance. I personally doubt that she has any awareness, considering that the portions of her brain that control emotions, memory and language have been replaced with a fluid-filled sac.

My point was that she does not have any awareness or ability to communicate or do any sort of purposeful movement. If she did have, she woulda fought them when they tried to dress her in those ugly shirts.

Excuse me for this post, but I'm seeing a ton of visitors coming to this thread. However, a much larger discussion about Terry Schiavo can be found in this thread.

[Edited to add that the above-linked thread got too large, and that a continuation thread has started - Dave W.]

[Edited again to add that more Schiavo-related threads here include "Hammesfahr, Hannity, and Scarborough" and "Schiavo: A case for living wills?"]

Wow, this thread is getting more hits per post than the Skeptic Times evolution debate thread ever did.
