The National Guard (the Swedish version of it) Plutoon he served in arranged a memorial service which I attended.
It was outdoors, and very nice.
The lieutenant making the speach told epitomizing anecdotes about my friend when they were out on field exercises, some that made me laugh and cry at the same time because it so really caught the spirit of my friend. At the end of the service it started to rain, a very light rain that didn't bother me at all.
After the service, having met and chatted with the rest of the family, sharing memories, I feel much better. The grief have settled and I can enjoy taking my bike for a spin again. |
