Sorry I had to split early. I got back just as the light was turned off.
The snake call was an easy one; a black rat snake Elaphe obsoleta about 4 feet long, in a hedge. Easy catch and it is now cooling the heels it doesn't have in a temporary cage. Tomorrow, I'll check it for exoparasites, canker mouth, and so forth. Then it will get a free meal and be released near where it was found. I'll have it for about a week.
