Being the cycle buff that you are, I thought you'd get a kick out of this new movie based on a Aussie and his fast Indian.
It's not very often to see this type of motorcycle movie. Having a couple of old BMW airhead bikes myself, I'm always looking out for some new Hollywood scooter movies. This looks like it could be a good'en.
Check out the movie trailer....

Now that brings back memories!

In the mid '50s, not long before I went into the Service, I met one of the old-time salt racers. He rode a highly modified Indian Chief and held several land speed records.

I don't recall his name, but I remember the bike quite well. He had built the frame, stroked the engine, and sand cast and machined his pistons himself (and he went through a lot of pistons), and remachined automotive valves to fit his cylinders. He even re-sleeved his badly over-bored and worn out cylinders in his small workshop.

As I recall, the scoot was capable of something like 150 mph, not too shabby for a '30s vintage sidevalve with only a tiny quarter fairing (also home made) for streamlining, even on alky. Indeed, not bad even by today's standards.

Thanks for the tip; I'd very much like to take in that flick. Having run the Flying Mile myself, some years ago, I can appreciate it.
