It said liberal on mine too. So whatever one wants to make of that, there you are.
Thanks for explaining all that slang from the previous post. Wish people wouldn't keep 'inventing' new expressions. It would be easier if one said ideas in real words.

Thanks for taking the time to do that and report your results. New political words are always being invented by "pundits." There's really no stopping them, since people love to coin words. Sometimes, like with "neo-conservative" or "neocon," the words are useful for referring to people who share a general set of beliefs. "Neo-conservative" has actually been in use since about 1970, according to Wikipedia.

HalfMooner, since the neo-conservatives are "generally characterized as miltaristic, brutal, and lacking in regard for personal freedom," we here at the SFN have also nicknamed them the Decepticons.

Filthy, do you mean keeping track of Bush?
I don't keep track of much of the 'common' news, Bush or whoever is on the front page.

Not knowing for sure what past early presidents were like other than what's in history books I can't say for sure but I'd have to agree with you for the most part.

> He is a hard lesson in who not to chose for a leader.

I've always said Americans are stupid.

He certainly is more. I have never liked the man. Of course we can't and shouldn't go by looks BUT, he's always impressed me as a puppet with someone holding their hand in his back. That grin of his! He looks like a fool. (I'd rather say baphoon but I can't spell it) I've tried so much, more than any time before listening to a president speak. Trying to see what others see in him but each time I hear him talk it is the same. He looks like a 2nd grade student reading out loud from a story book and not understanding what he's saying. I can't stand watching Bush.

I was born here so technology must admit I am an American although I've never considered myself one. It's embarassing to me that the many people I know all over the world think I live in a country that has a man like that who is supposed to be the 'leader' of us.

To that point I have to say, I've never understood why people think the pres. has so much power. That's not what I was taught in school about the government AND the congress is often talked about as being in control. SO, what's the big deal about who is pres.? I never understood what that job is all about. He's more of an ambassador. It's not like he's a king and can suddenly say 'that's the way it is, deal with it' Congress has just as much power, AND the people vote them in.

> Credibility?

My idea of saying that was that the people voted him in so who ever did must have thought he was suited for the position.

> Do research him, Snake. It might be a revelation....

Na, thank you. A waste of my time, if you don't mind. Nothing I could do about it anyway. One man, one vote. I used mine on someone else.

LOL, well the 'results' IMO are a lot like listening to the nightly TV news, you know something more than you did before but to what purpous. It if means something and can change your life.... go for it!
To be a little more serious, New Words... that's one major reason I don't listen to the news anymore. It's like trying to decipher a foreign language. Yap, 1970, that sounds about right, the time I stopped watching it.
BTW, the other reason I don't watch is... I DON'T care what movie star married or divorced another or how many hot dogs some nitwit ate at a county fair, etc. And while I'm glad to hear a dog was rescued from an ice pond it really has not affect on my personal life. SO, the PBS Nightly Business News is the best place to listen to things that are happening that mean anything to me and they don't dwell on politicians that much.

All right, I see you just posted something. I probably shouldn't waste my time with you either but here we go again.
That's a pretty ignorant statement Dr. If I understand you correctly and it does sound sarcastic. You don't know what I know or how informed I am. I am probably more concerned about my community than most of the people who live here. I have NEVER missed an election since I was able to vote. I pay no attention to political advertisements. And over the years they've gotten more deceitful trying to sway UNinformed voters. I read the ballots and study the candidates each year so I can be confident I'm making the right choice for me. I make phone calls, one of which to the League of Women Voters (an organization that explains each position of each measure in a neutral way) to find out more information. I'm willing to bet not a lot of people go to that much trouble. AND I've worked at the polls several times. It's pitiful to see how few people respect their right to vote. So, if I were you, I'd be more careful before I said anything.
