I guess it was only a matter of time. Russian Communist leader sees U.S. behind bird flu outbreakquote:
MOSCOW. March 14 (Interfax) - Russian Communist party leader Gennady Zyuganov has blamed the United States for the spread of avian influenza, or bird flu, in a number of European countries, including Russia.
"The forms of warfare are changing. It's strange that not a single duck has yet died in America - they are all dying in Russia and European countries. This makes one seriously wonder why," Zyuganov said at a press conference at the Interfax main office on Tuesday.
Zyuganov said that he has good knowledge of war gases as he dealt with them during his army service.
"I tested all kinds of war gases at a range myself," he said.
Asked to be more precise as to whether he believes the bird flu outbreak could be a deliberate attack by the U.S., Zyuganov answered positively.
"I not only suggest this, I know very well how this can be arranged. There is nothing strange here," he said.
I've been amazed at all the other incredible illogical conclusions about bird flu so this one doesn't surprise me. Gee, why is the bird flu only in Russia and not one case has occurred in the USA? Couldn't possibly be because it started in China which is right next to Russia. Couldn't possibly be because they all have chickens in their living rooms and we only have them in the freezer. The stupidity of some people is mind boggling.
As a side note I also read just today some blogger's stupid opinion that any disease could mutate at any time so why worry about bird flu. After all, HIV could mutate into an airborne disease just as easily according to the writer. It doesn't dawn on him that infectious disease experts might just know a little bit more about the matter than he does.
But back to the paranoia. You can bet a rumor like the Russian claims will be readily picked up by the Muslims who feel threatened by us anyway, just as others suspect we spread HIV and make polio vaccines that make Muslim women sterile. In fact, I guess no one had to say it. People will come up with such conspiracies on their own. I should really be surprised it's taken this long.

Gennady Zyuganov is a certified commie nutcase. It was guys like him that spawned your MacCarthy. They are the flip side of the same coin.
