We had Dolphins using names to identify themselves, now we have Monkeys creating two word sentences in warning calls.

Our dog uses the same bark when he wants to come in as the dog we had before used - a double woof followed by a long pause then another double woof and a long pause repeated ad infinitum. We did not get Vahsti until after Tesla died so he didn't learn it from her.
I wonder if other dogs use the same signal.

I've heard the same bark pattern in the same situation repeatedly, used by many dogs I've had over the years. I never thought of it as words, yet I always knew what they were saying with that double-bark. I'm glad you mentioned this, as I'd not given it conscious attention before. BTW, it's always seemed there was a bit of an outraged, demanding tone in that communication.
