That rhetorical question has at last been definitively answered, by this media question:

"Is Superman gay?"

This has become a big media question of late, a summertime "news" distraction that really irritates the Hell out of those of us who wait breathless for any mention of the lives and movements of important celebrities like, say, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

Some background for those of you who may not be in the know: "Superman" is a fictional character, originally appearing in comic books early in the last century. Brad and Angelina, by stark contrast, are real people, though crafted from much more glamorous matter than the likes of you or I, especially you. Also, they never shit.

As a fictional character, Superman's sexual orientation (which, by the way, both his girlfriend, Lois Lane, and I agree is strictly heterosexual) is no business of the stalking paparazzi and hack reporters of the media. These media mavens should be concentrating their reportage upon important real events, and real people, like Brangelina!

I suspect that this questioning of Superman's "manliness" is simply a cheap publicity stunt by a Hollywood studio to pump up interest in the Man of Steel, and to sell the thousands of licensed Superman outfits seen in recent Gay Pride parades.

Of course Superman is not gay. Now Batman and Robin on the other hand...
