I'm sure these little guys have been discussed before but someone recently caught a Pacu fish with teeth and made the news on CNN.

I wonder how many nucleic acid substitutions it takes on a DNA molecule to get from fish teeth to human?

Maybe this will silence the Bill Scott of the world who want to see a whale turn into a giraffe or some such...

Just kidding.

Umm I think this is just an invasive species and not some mutation. Oh and its probably a case where these traits developed independent of our own line and therefor will bounce off Bill Scott like superballs.

Oh it is an outsider in the pond, that isn't in question. I was just amazed at the teeth.

Regardless of whether the teeth evolved apart from mammal teeth, the point is the genetics are not too many mutations away. It's just one more strike against irreducible complexity, not that IC hasn't already struck out.

It is a rather common and unremarkable fish, one of several species often sold by pet stores as a juvenile. They call it a "silver dollar," as it is then a bright silver in color. While from the Amazon region and related to the piranhas, and in spite of the teeth, it is primarily a vegetarian.

This animal is doubtless one that out-grew it's tank and the idiot owner simply released it. Looks like it would fillet up and bake nicely, though.

I know you were kidding (because you said so), and I'd agree that no amount of evidence will sway the BillScott's of the world.

They are immune to evidence and reason when it comes to their holy book.
