QUESTION: The attacks upon the World Trade Center.

BUSH: Nothing. Except for it's part of -- and nobody's ever suggested in this administration that Saddam Hussein ordered the attack. Iraq was a -- Iraq -- the lesson of September the 11th is: Take threats before they fully materialize, Ken.

Hrrmmm.... I seem to recall things a bit differently.

I recall hearing "Dead Eye" Dick, and Condasleeza Rice making the claim of an Iraq-alQauda connection dozens of times. Pretty sure that Dick even did it on Meet The Press.

What's really startling is how flustered and incoherent the President of the United States can get when asked a simple question.

These guys just lie. Rumsfeld said he never said the war would be easy when interviewed by Hilary. Tape after tape has been played back showing that wasn't true. Tape after tape has been played back with Bush and everyone in his administration linking 9/11 to Saddam and Iraq. They don't care. Just stick to the lie. If you say it often enough, people believe it, whether you want to start a war or whether you want to re-write history as to how you got into the war after the fact.

The sad thing is you hear the contradictory tapes on Air America, Democracy Now, and The Daily Show. The transcripts are on Media Matters and Truthout.org. But how often do you hear the evidence against the latest lying talking point on any regular news program?

Write letters to CNN pointing that out. CNN is coming the closest to turning on these guys and getting some guts back in their broadcasts. MSNBC is still drooling over the JonBenet suspect. And we know Fox is fake news so no sense bothering there. I don't watch much NBC, CBS and ABC news. Maybe someone else can give us an update on their coverage of these latest Bush lies.

I would expect by now no one would be startled by this. Apalled perhaps.

Because it wuld involve work to dig up old tapes. And it would upset people if they discovered that they were governed by a bunch of criminals. This is the same reason why won't here any discussion of the massive deficit that is being run up by the government - another inconvenient truth.
