Yup, the image of Charles Darwin has appeared in a tree. I predict that by noon tomorrow a horde of faithful scientists will have surrounded it with bunsen burners and offerings of new species of flowers.

Well, nobody can argue about this one. Creationist case dismissed! This proves that Darwin was an historical person, and did indeed walk the earth. He wasn't just an invention of Queen Victoria used to discredit Lamarck. His miracle of turning monkeys into humans is simplicity compared to being able to project his image onto the stump of this tree limb.

Just goes to show you that nature works in mysterious ways.

"We are all connected; to each other biologically, to the earth chemically, to the rest of the universe atomically."

"So you're made of detritus [from exploded stars]. Get over it. Or better yet, celebrate it. After all, what nobler thought can one cherish than that the universe lives within us all?"

This is just wrong. What would be the selective pressures that made this tree evolve such an image? It is irreducibly complex, don't you know.

Oh my Science!

Put that on your grilled cheese sandwiches and eat it.

Why continue? Because we must. Because we have the call. Because it is nobler to fight for rationality without winning than to give up in the face of continued defeats. Because whatever true progress humanity makes is through the rationality of the occasional individual and because any one individual we may win for the cause may do more for humanity than a hundred thousand who hug their superstitions to their breast.

Apparently CD was not a big fan of razor blades. Just image how much food and crumbs were imbedded in that rat's nest. He could have used his beard for a comb over.
