William Dembski to pay up to $250 for Dawkins' flatulence

Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas, December 23, 2006 (FNS) -- Mathematics professor and Intelligent Design Creationist Dr. William Dembski has offered a cash reward of $250 for flatulence emanating from arch-rival, atheist Richard Dawkins. Professor Dembski is renown as "the Issac Newton of Information Theory." It now is known that he's a serious gas-man, too.

Asked what he'd do with such odiferous gas, Dembski stated it was "only for private use -- maybe." He then giggled.

Long a "snurf," or aficionado and avid collector of farts, Dembski stated that his hobby was unrelated to his full-time interests in mathematics, Intelligent Design, and making false accusations about real scientists to Homeland Security.

"Seeking and savoring the nuances of rare and novel kinds of gassiness has always been a favorite past-time of mine," said Dembski. "Though if anyone in a room passes gas, I'll be right there. For instance, if you were to cut the cheese, my face would be mere centimeters from the source within seconds."

Dembski looked around the room expectantly. "Can't one of you reporters let one rip? Here, please feel free to try the bean dip."

Biology is just physics that has begun to smell bad.” —HalfMooner
