Hey Larry -- Were you ever able to clear up the problems for Opera? I haven't tried to use it here in a long time, but I would really like to. Thanks!

For the most part. The default Snitz install used friendly color names (navyblue) so i just changed them to their hexidecimal values. I may have missed a few here and there but it should work a lot better. I still don't get why anyone would use Opera though. I tried it, it sucks

Yes I do. I downloaded it to test web sites I work on. The basic install is useless because it doesn't even have necessary web functionality negating it's main selling point that it is "smaller"
It also has ads and is not even close to the speed of IE.

No, Opera is faster. I swear it is. I'll say more, but I can't right now. I'll get back to you later! Grrr... ;-)

I have been using Opera with this site for a while now and don't think I have encountered any problems directly related to the browser.
Regarding the adventages of Opera:
It is faster then IE at least on my system. It has lots of handy little features in easy to reach places. I espescially like the mouse-gestures, fullscreen mode and the way it remebers all the sites you had opened when you last closed down your browser.
Using your own style-sheets in one click and turning of all kinds of security levels without having to go trough endless menues is cool, too.
What web functions were you missing? What version did you use? Try 6.01 you might be suprised.

I'll give 6.01 a try but that last version I was using was pathetic, no java, no plugins and it had better allow Active X or else it's absolutely unusable to me.
But for me, from a design standpoint....I would rather have one browser available...and the best one. So far for me the winner is easily IE. There are features coming to SFN that only work with IE. The rich text editor is one. A sweet WYSIWYG tool that replaces the basic form everyone else gets. I have that working on some other sites I maintain but haven't got around to installing it here, though. And that will only work with IE...ever.

They offer two versions for download. One for people who already have Java installed or don't want to use it and one with Java included.
All the usual plugins for Netsacpe should work.
I hope you won't make the site completly unusable for anyone not using IE. As long as it is just added features, and there is actually a need to make incompatibility with other browsers, it is fine by me. I think i will be able to live without a WYSIWYG editor.
I just get a bit thoughtfull whenever I see a site that is only working with IE, microsoft's version of Java, shockwave pluginns and a resolution, I could not even get displayed on my monitor, if I were inclined to do so.

Oh no, I do what I can to make any site work with as many browsers as possible. The Rich Text Editor is only available if SFN detects IE, otherwise the regular editor is there.
