Ricky's just a youngster, and doesn't have the necessary background info on The Carol Burnett Show or anything else that makes those Conway clips pee-your-pants funny.

Oh, Ricky doesn't know that Conway was just making shit up to make everyone laugh while going completely off script? And he didn't notice that he succeeded? And he didn't notice that the stories about the elephant were funny in any case? And he didn't hear Vicky Lawrence as "Mama" ask if that "little asshole's though?" during a television skit on a family show? Oh well...

I don't want him to feel too bad about not getting it, but I showed that clip to Zachary, who just turned 19. He then searched out every Tim Conway clip he could find...

Sure the story was funny, and I even laughed a little. But I didn't fall off any couches in the process. That and I couldn't understand what "Mama" asked.

I also used to watch the show, especially when I was out of school sick...

Anyways, here is a video for the computer generation (i.e. Not McCain).

Why continue? Because we must. Because we have the call. Because it is nobler to fight for rationality without winning than to give up in the face of continued defeats. Because whatever true progress humanity makes is through the rationality of the occasional individual and because any one individual we may win for the cause may do more for humanity than a hundred thousand who hug their superstitions to their breast.

Chruch made fun of by a 2 year old. Unfortunately, they don't see the satire.

"John McCain. Youth You Can Believe In."
We've figured out something. The law of the excluded middle is not in the Constitution. We looked. It's not in any contract our party ever signed. It wasn't even written by Republicans. It was written by left-wing academics.

"So at the convention last week, we send the former mayor of New York City to go out on prime time and ridicule Obama for being 'cosmopolitan.' We make Rudy Giuliani, Mr. Manhattan, the spokesman for small-town values. According to Democrat logic, he should be laughed off the stage. But the response goes off the charts...

Holy crap! Talk about turning the tables on the host. The lameness of the Guilt by Association argument should now be quite clear to one Fixed News host.

Politics or Humor? I picked Humor since it made me laugh.

The really funny part is that the phone-in poll of who won the debate gives McCain 86%. That says a lot about how delusional the Faux News-viewers are.

Hey, don't miss out on McCain laughing at himself on SNL this past weekend. Greg Laden has both the intro and the Weekend Update bits. Of course, being funny doesn't come close to making up for all the crappy campaigning.

Ben Radford has a board game out, Playing Gods: The Board Game of Divine Domination:
Q: Is the game anti-religious?

A: No. The game is not anti-anything, except anti-boredom. Players can inject as much – or as little – real religion into the game as they wish. Players may pit Zeus against Cthulhu and Eric Clapton for control over the world, or pit Jesus against a Muslim figurehead. It's all up to you. I hope the game is taken in the spirit in which it was offered. I've shown the game to Catholics, Buddhists, and a Muslim. They weren't offended, so why should you be?
