In response to an exchange with Brian Dunning who created a new G+ community, Skeptalk:
Me with usual wolf avatar: "I am so there. No wait, I'm here. Space-time rip!..."
Brian: "You appear to be in both places at once. Some sort of dual wave quantum function Schrödinger's Wolf thingy. We should send you thru a slit lamp slit and see what happens, then open the box."

I kind of like the parts where after the climax they turn off the lights and video screen, leaving the pranked victim in complete darkness and silence. Almost like they died or something.

Interesting links Dave.
The resolution of the human vision is not greatly understood or even agreed upon by today's neuroscientists. It is far more complex that what Plait was able to cover in the 2 link he wrote.
It would be really nice to see LG have someone set up a prank involving Phil Plait and this display. That would really show for sure if Phil does in fact react and thinks in real time the same way he suggests he would while sitting in front of a computer keyboard.
I agree most with his point that those might have been actors, for all we know. |
