Off with their heads, but just remember WE are the real threat, not the religious types.

"...things I have neither seen nor experienced nor heard tell of from anybody else; things, what is more, that do not in fact exist and could not ever exist at all. So my readers must not believe a word I say." -Lucian on his book True History

"...They accept such things on faith alone, without any evidence. So if a fraudulent and cunning person who knows how to take advantage of a situation comes among them, he can make himself rich in a short time." -Lucian critical of early Christians c.166 AD From his book, De Morte Peregrini

Yeah. And what's frightening is that when you read stuff from the Christian fundamentalist literature or websites, or hear them on the radio, this is their mentality. They aren't calling for anyone's heads, but there is a real loathing and contempt for anyone who doesn't believe what they do.

And these guys are the ones in power. They like to talk about how they're the minority being persecuted by Hollywood and secularists and whatnot, but that's all just a sham so they can raise more money. The reality is that these guys are in the majority and their views are the dominant ones out there. And if we aren't careful, well, who knows what could happen??

Yeah; Saudi Arabia is crazy. They are the Taliban's big brother. The one that got oil and that we'll never touch.

Women are also not allowed to drive there.

Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there – on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.
Carl Sagan - 1996

Hmmmm. Perhaps some of those Saudi's drove in Southern California at one time in their life...

Uncertainty may make you uncomfortable. Certainty makes you ridiculous.

Why not question something for a change?

By labeling them as "Sorcerers," does that mean that they believe the horoscope nuts actually have real powers?

Why continue? Because we must. Because we have the call. Because it is nobler to fight for rationality without winning than to give up in the face of continued defeats. Because whatever true progress humanity makes is through the rationality of the occasional individual and because any one individual we may win for the cause may do more for humanity than a hundred thousand who hug their superstitions to their breast.

In the shell of a horoscope nut; yeh.

But then, they also believe in an only moderatly differing version of the Big Mojo Aloft as the Judeao-Christians, many (most?) of whom also dig witchcraft, demon possesion and other such nonsense.
