When I saw the Today Show tease this segment, I cringed.

It's exactly the kind of subject that is routinely grotesquely mishandled by a medium like morning network TV.

To my surprise, the piece centered on Dr. Paul A. Offit, a vaccination expert and one willling to stand up to the anti-vax crowd, despite harassment and death threats and such.

Even the NBC Medical Correspondent, Dr. Nancy Snyderman, who I've seen fawn all over accupuncture for instance, was very clear on the subject: There is no scientific controversy.

The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed.

Even WingNut Daily is pro-vaccine!

But back to reality: the reason Dr. Offit is on the Today show is because he recently released a book, Autism's False Prophets: Bad Science, Risky Medicine, and the Search for a Cure. It's making all the people who watch the anti-vax crowd go "ooooooh!"
