Not work safe, which is ironic actually , because this website in question deals with workplace safety, though some think it's gone too far.

The six graphic videos are part of an $850,000 campaign aimed at reducing workplace accidents among 15- to 19-year-olds.

One video shows a shoe store worker tumbling off a ladder and another shows the severed finger of distracted deli worker who hurts himself while slicing cheese.

So, have too many bureaucrats been watching the "Saw" movies, or what?

How effective do you guys think this'd be?

What brought that on? this. Original posting here.

Another example of this guy's lunacy here.

Interesting....might work for a day or two, then people fall right back into their old habits.

I would rather face a cold reality than delude myself with comforting fantasies.

Hard to say how effective, but I think it's a safe bet that something shocking will get attention and leave lastiing impressions better than something bland and mundane.

I am 35 years old and I still remember the slide show of horrific drunk-driving (and real) accidents some police guy showed our whole school one day, describing in detail how it all went down. That was when I was living in Florida, in 1987!

Since then, I have been really, really responsable about drinking and driving.

For me it was VERY effective!

Cheers!

"Stapelfahrer Klaus" is also a classic. It's in German, but its graphics speak for itself.

I heard that 'shock' commercials (for example about driving safety) were only effective for a short while.
After that, people get used to it, recover from the initial shocl and relapse in their unsafe habits...

Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there – on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.
