This just in: Bristol Palin says abstinence doesn't work.

"I'd love to [be] an advocate to prevent teen pregnancy because it's not, like, a situation that you would want to strive for, I guess," Bristol said.
(Though, as she also says in the interview, having a baby is "awesome" because he's so "cute".)

I'd title it: 'Bristol Palin shows abstinence doesn't work.

This sentence stands out for me:
Her parents insisted that she and her boyfriend hash out a "game plan" immediately.
.
I would like to say that it shocked me, but, sadly no.

Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there – on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.

Well, the showing was clear by the time of the Republican National Convention. The saying is what's new. (Apparently agreed to this interview then let mom know at the last minute - way to go, Bristol!)

Despite her situation, Bristol seems to be the smartest of the Palins. She was absolutely dead-on when she said abstinence by teens was impractical. And she's in no rush to marry ther boyfriend, something that seems wise.

Her idiot Mom popped into the interview, apparently trying to take control.

I seem to recall that right after the GOP convention, Bristol's boyfriend was given the title "Number One Policital Prisoner in the USA" by some pundit or other.

Agreeing with 'mooner; my respect for Miss Bristol has increased considerably. Nice to see that someone in that family is capable of considered and coherent thought.
