Here's some thoughts:

You make lime (calcium oxide) by heating up calcite to 825 C in a lime kiln, driving off its CO2 components.

I see a couple of problems in this. First, you would probably need to burn fossil fuels to produce the lime, thus creating CO2. Second, the calcite releases its own CO2 in the process. Then you dump the lime into the ocean to absorb the same amount of CO2 that you just released from the calcite.

Except for the fossil fuel CO2, which is extra. Net effect: The earth warms even faster.
