This guy is apparently giving a seminar to a town very close to where I grew up.
Yeesh! What's even worse, we know each other. Very well.
It's been years, so he'd probably doesn't know what my views are now on what he "teaches". I suspect he'd not like them.

If you know him, perhaps he will take your call. Invite him to SFN for a structured written debate. Tell him that he can choose the subject and we will make sure that before he commits, the terms of the debate will be agreeable to both parties. We will be happy to negotiate the terms of the debate with him.
It's important to remind him that so far, no creationist has done this. It's our feeling that creationists are loath to get into a debate on a level playing field, where fact checking can actually be done. Live debates are more of a contest of debating skills, and not of any real value from a scientific or even a religious point of view. But a written debate allows time for presenting the case backed up by actual evidence rather than pithy sound bites.

Well-known creationist Kent Hovind touts his unsatisfied $250,000 challenge to anyone who can "prove" evolution as evidence for creationism. The challenge is rigged, of course. For example, since the Big Bang is part of evolution, Hovind argues, you will have to produce an actual Big Bang to get the award. Hovind also tours the country preaching creationism to large crowds, and is constantly challenging "evolutionists" to debate at these evangelism sessions.

Hovind knew he'd be flayed alive in such a format because he'd be denied his favorite tactic of the "Gish Gallop", thus he'd be unable to perform to an applauding audience. He squirmed away, wisely, I think, from any sort of challenge where any knowledgeable high school senior could take him apart like a clogged carburetor.
But whaddahell, it's worth a try.
