That is hasn't been available until now is almost an academic crime in itself. While it isn't unheard of for scholars to make it difficult for others to see a dissertation for a short period (ca. 5 years) after graduation, this is generally so the person has time to revise it for a book (and to prevent ideas from being "scooped" as it were). But Hovind completed his dissertation what-- 20 years ago? If not more? If this doesn't say utter sham then I don't know what does. Er, besides the actual dissertation itself... |

My Dog! If that's a doctoral thesis, I'm a gilded crocodile. In case anybody's not noticed, I ain't gilded.
I confess that I didn't read the whole thing -- I've a low drivel threshold this evening -- but if the rest of it's in the same vein of what I did read, I'm missing little.
What is interesting to note is that "Dr. Dino" goes through all of the distortions and even outright lies that we hear almost every day from Creationists -- Darwin was the inspiration for Marx, and so forth. He also does a bit of history, carefully spun. And, of course, lots of Bible quotes.
Small wonder Hovind & Patriot U. was determined to to keep this slops bucket in the closet.

Kent Hovind got his degree from a diploma mill. He could have turned in a cocktail napkin with the word "Theesus" written in crayon and they would have still handed him his diploma. From that point of view, his 100 page religious testimonial was probably considered above and beyond the expected requirements.

I started reading and taking notes to put here to critique, but it's so facile and ridiculous that it's not even worth it. While she does show flashes of adequate writing skills, in generally the prose is appalling even for serious undergraduate work, and of course the arguments are rudimentary creationist material that even many modern creationists have moved away from...
I feel bad for the poor dude who actually made the PDF... |

It made me lulz hard. Well up to about page 37 or so before I just could not take anymore.
I would like to think I am slightly above average writer if I have enough beers in me, at least in my own mind. Nothing to brag about for sure; but this is one of those pieces of drivel that happens to come by from time to time that almost makes me feel as if I have a Hitchens' like grasp of the English language.
What is that anyway? 17 point font and 3 inch margins with 2.5 spacing?
The only references Hovind gives is either to the KJV Bible or Henry Morris' "The Long war Against God"- as far I read ans can stomach so far.
I wonder just how much of Genesis chapters 1 through 11 the idiot fluffs his "dissertation" with?
