In this blog post about a climategate believer also being a birther, the author posts this observation:

It’s not a coincidence that climate denialists believe (or claim to believe) a lot of other insane things like denial of CFCs causing ozone depletion, denial of cigarettes causing cancer, denial of evolution, believe that environmentalists had DDT banned which killed hundreds of millions of people in Africa, etc. While some of this is just part of being an “expert” for hire for anti-regulatory interests, much of it is more simply explained by the phenomenon of crank magnetism. Cranks believe kooky things, and these kooky beliefs are rarely isolated to a single subject. So people like Monckton are not only climate denialists, but they turn out to be birthers and also believe that they can cure HIV.

What brought that on? this. Original posting here.

Another example of this guy's lunacy here.

There is a big difference here. Climate Change deniers are race neutral where as the Birthers are not. The Birthers specifically targeted Obama and questioned his American citizenship and place of birth by refusing to accept any proof of his birth short of the original birth certificate.

Therefore racism was at the core of the birthers. They began smearing the legitimacy of an elected black man as their President with their organized doubt propaganda.

I figure it's just the fact that Obama is a democrat...the fact that he's black just means that the conservitards have one more piece of ammo to use to try to get rid of him; If Hillary had run and had won, they'd have been attacking her too. Religious right hatred of democrats is automatic.

Wing Nut Daily has black columnists, like Ellis Washington yet they are the ones who keep pushing that birther shit as evidenced by the little ad that's running in the top left hand side of that page.

I watched the GOP debate on CNN. Was a disgrace to see future Presidential candidates behaving so badly on National TV. The poor economy, the conclusions of the 2 wars (failure) and no good options is bringing out the worst in Americans and American politics.
