Anyone of you ever hear of this?

What brought that on? this. Original posting here.

Another example of this guy's lunacy here.

Fascinating.

I would rather face a cold reality than delude myself with comforting fantasies.

Now if they could just stop the physical aging process at 17 for women then the'll be on to something.

I know you're joking......but maybe 19 would have sounded better.

I've never been very politically correct.

Sucks that she has both the body and mind of a toddler, though. While many of us pine for the bodies we had in adolescence, few of us would wish to remain in perpetual puberty.

I wonder what science can learn from this girl's condition, though. Dwarfs have growth problems as well, and although there there has sometimes been a tendency for society to think of them as childlike, they've never been thought of as unaging. Indeed, the article points out that "not developing properly" is not the same thing as "not aging."

But she has also suffered a succession of life-threatening health problems, including strokes, seizures, ulcers and breathing difficulties — almost as if she were growing old despite not growing up.

Like most pop-science articles, the headline is terribly misleading.

"A man is his own easiest dupe, for what he wishes to be true he generally believes to be true." --Demosthenes

"The first principle is that you must not fool yourself - and you are the easiest person to fool." --Richard P. Feynman

"Face facts with dignity." --found inside a fortune cookie

Amen, brother. There should be a special circle of Hell for such headline writers. I'd bet most article writers would agree.
