Where do I sign up?
The Birth of the People’s Party
Monday, March 7, 2011

Look at the outrage in Madison, Wisconsin. Look at the crowds in DesMoines, Iowa. Look at the demonstrations in Indiana and Ohio and elswhere around America.

Hear what they’re saying: Stop attacking unions. Stop making scapegoats out of public employees. Stop protecting the super-rich from paying their fair share of the taxes needed to keep our schools running.

Stop gutting the working middle class.

Are we finally seeing average Americans stand up and demand a fair shake in an economy now grotesquely tilted toward the wealthy and the privileged? Are Americans beginning to awake to the fact that our economy now delivers a larger share of total income to the very top than at any time in living memory? That big corporations are making more money and creating more jobs abroad than in the United States?

I guess I don't have to sign up afterall. Like the teabaggers, there is no actual leadership. Evidently, all you have to do is show up and holler, and hopefully strike abject terror into the black, shriveled hearts of corporate douchebags such as the Koch brothers, the teabaggers themselves, and the cowardly/greedy politicians who suck up to anyone who might further their careers with cash. I like it.

I'd be in if there were a place to sign...

I did join the SDS again. This time it's made up of old members of the SDS only it's Seniors for a Democratic Society instead of Students for a Democratic Society.

We get a senior discount at Denny's.

Jeez, "The Peoples Party"?! that's almost as bad an idea as "The Brights", I wonder how long till they become the butt of every commie joke that can be uttered.

"...things I have neither seen nor experienced nor heard tell of from anybody else; things, what is more, that do not in fact exist and could not ever exist at all. So my readers must not believe a word I say." -Lucian on his book True History

"...They accept such things on faith alone, without any evidence. So if a fraudulent and cunning person who knows how to take advantage of a situation comes among them, he can make himself rich in a short time." -Lucian critical of early Christians c.166 AD From his book, De Morte Peregrini

Whaddya mean; liberals already are. Might 's well give the pigfuckers reason and besides, fair being fair, We've been calling them fasciest white-trash for as long as the fasciest white-trash has existed.

If nothing else, our signs and posters will be grammatically correct and properly speled.

Every time I see People's Party I think of People's Porter. So without question my initial reaction is extremely positive.
