Since I am a huge fan of microbrews I reallly want this to be true.

Researchers at Granada University in Spain said drinking beer after strenuous physical activity can be beneficial for the body.

Well, water is 2/3 hydrogen - remember the Hindenburg? And oxygen is a guaranteed fire hazard, in fact it's essential. Damned dangerous stuff I'd say. Beer on the other hand is filled with CO2 bubbles, a great gas for snuffing out fires. Pour me a pint of good ale, and let those lads at the fire department rest easy!

Interesting stuff. This surely means that the next significant benefit of beer consumption will be as a preventative for spontaneous human combustion. These are very exciting times.
