Reading about farm subsidies around the world. This might be one area where I'm in total agreement with the free market capitalists. In this case it does seem that it is government interference causing extreme human suffering. Not suffering for the citizens of the intervening governments, but rather, the citizens of the undeveloped nations that can't compete with richer countries that use subsidies to benefit their own interests.

This blog/activist seems to put up some compelling arguments and has been doing so since when this editorial was published in the Guardian.

Although the goal seems utterly impossible because I can't imagine the governments of all the nations that give huge subsidies deciding to eliminate those policies knowing that it will no doubt hurt their own farmers who take their advantage for granted. The political will just isn't there, and I don't see how to change that.
