Thanks for the link, Thor. As far as I can tell, that's the exact template used by the fundies.

Dear friend Mark Irons analyzed the connections...

Examining the directed graph:

* Half the lines form a circular chain, including #1 and #4; all lines not part of the chain feed into it.

* The most connected line is #4, "Other Creationists say so, and I believe them." Removing it breaks the graph into four disjoint subgraphs.

* The line furthest removed from the [1...4] cycle is #15, "Absence of evidence is not proof of absence, so it must be proof of presence."

These results courtesy graph theory, a branch of heathen mathematics.

Thor, I think that analysis by your friend proves that we freethinkers have been enormously simplistic when we accuse Fundies of having a circular argument for theism. "God exists because the Bible says so. The Bible is true because God says so" is approximately how we misrepresent their argument as simple circular thinking.

In reality, their logic's not so simple at all. It's a whole rubber-band box full of entangled loops. A whole bunch of circles to keep people baffled and stop them from connecting the logical dots. It's very complex circular thinking and we should be ashamed of having said otherwise.
