How to deal with bullshit immigration searches. The main thing to note here is how quickly many of the 'authorities' roll over and let them go on their way, and the reason is fairly simple: they know damned well that what they're doing is unconstitutional, and would probably never stand up in a court of law. So if someone who actually knows their rights gives them a challenge, they have little choice but to allow them to go on their way. NEVER acquiesce to any request that has no legal authority, just keep saying 'no'.

It's weird how that one woman just goes into a kind of bureaucratic feedback loop. "Am I being detained?" "You need to answer my question." "Am I being detained?" "You need to answer my question."

You see how hard they work to get people to submit to searches by sheer intimidation. However, the fact that the police do eventually allow people to drive on gives me hope that the Constitution still has some force. I take that as a good sign.

Still, I know my own personality and I don't see myself standing up to a pack of aggressive officers like that. I would wilt like a daisy in the Sahara. I can see my wife getting sassy, though.
