Time for me to cajole those folks who are eligible to vote in US elections yet do not.

I've already voted. Some of you think I'm an asshole. Vote to make my voice quieter. Otherwise, I get a louder voice. And you get stuck with who I pick.

Vote.

Voted first day of early voting 10/23. Stood in line for 90 minutes talking to someone who I had a lot in common with, vacation wise. And voting.

Overhead a poll worker for a candidate, I was not going to vote for, tell people in line that his candidates opponent, Alma Adams, admitted the night before to having had 3 abortions. A woman about my age called him a liar and said that he should stop lying to people. She went inside to complain about his harassing and lying. He bibled something about it being a free country. What I heard while passing clearly indicated that he was a real thumper.

Had another poll worker want to hand me a list of conservative judges. I told him that judges should not be interpreting the law according to party platform.

As long as the poll workers were at least 50 feet from the polling place, it is OK. Otherwise, it is electioneering and you could turn them in to the SEC. Likewise, harrassing folks going to the polls is illegal.

Here in Chicago, we had new election day shenanigans. A robo-call targeted election judges (although for which party is unclear) claiming they did not fulfill all the required training. It is being investigated as election fraud.

There were a whole eight people in front of me in line this morning. With one of them, his "stated address" didn't match the address on his ID, and that caused all sorts of consternation. Stupid voter ID laws.

Including travel time, the whole process took about 20 minutes. I could have voted 3.5 times while moakley was standing in line for early voting (which we don't have).

Still, I'm looking forward to online voting at some point in the future. It'll be a great day when I can pick my favorite asshole while sitting on the can.

I dropped off my ballot last week and verified that it was received.

I managed to catch the polls with no line at all! 3pm for the win!

My polling place is in a church, it's weird.
