The vaccination fear-mongerers are starting to follow the playbook of the creationists and other science denialists. A likely presidential candidate is now blathering on about "balance" while spewing his non-medical-expert opinion. And then, of course, a day later he starts walking it back.

Plus:
We’re now living in a country where the fostering of New Age nonsense has led to one of our richest states, California, being the leader in child suffering, while Mississippi now has the honor of the nation’s best child vaccination rate — and freedom from measles outbreaks.
Wonderful.

Nevermind. Christie ain't competition for Rand Paul, so far as anti-vax nonsense goes.

I have little doubt that the major reason for them suddenly piping up, is because Obama came out strongly in favour of vaccination. The standard knee-jerk Republican reaction is to oppose anything he says, merely on principle. It is impossibly for them to agree with him on anything.

At least for the ones seeking high office. It seems to be a game of "I am more ideologically pure than thou" amongst them.

If Obama spoke in favour of defibrillators, the Republicans would say that heart attacks are good for you. If he was assassinated tomorrow, they would claim it was a false flag operation designed to take guns away. They are a pathetic gang of small-minded turds who care about nothing but their own bank accounts.

And they'd gleefully run this country down in the dirt to get their way.

"We are all connected; to each other biologically, to the earth chemically, to the rest of the universe atomically."

"So you're made of detritus [from exploded stars]. Get over it. Or better yet, celebrate it. After all, what nobler thought can one cherish than that the universe lives within us all?"

Rand Paul tried to pull a 180, but just corkscrews into the ground, instead.
