           	| Amazing but true.
 http://www.snopes.com/sports/football/election.asp

quote:Both teams won their first but have after that lost four consecutive games...The Washington Redskins have proved to be a time-tested election predictor. In the previous 15 elections, if the Washington Redskins have lost their last home game prior to the election, the incumbent party has lost the White House. When they have won, the incumbent has stayed in power.

This election year, that deciding game takes place on Sunday, October 31 ... vs. Green Bay.

 Go Pack!!!

I find it hard to believe that nobody's yet mentioned that Kerry won the election... Er, I mean that the Redskins lost the game.

We were visiting some friends who live in San Francisco. (It was a beautiful day in that city. Our friend lives in a high-rise apartment overlooking the bay.) Noting the history of Redskins wins and incumbent Presidential victories, just for fun ( and with some trepidation,) we checked the looming score via a laptop -- when the Redskins lost, we all jumped up and applauded loudly on the balcony for all to hear. More than a few car horns beeped simultaneously around Northbeach so I think other folks were also reveling in the freedom of temporarily embracing the superstition for its positive prediction of Bush's defeat.

Amazingly, they were talking about it on ESPN's football wrap-up. When Berman was doing the highlights, he kept calling Green Bay 'Democrats" and Washington "Repulibcans." Good stuff.

| If I could predict the future, I'd predict another legal battle and the Supreme Court appointing another president, probably Bush.
But hey, I can always hope that the kids (18-24) get off their lazy (and mostly democrat) asses and vote. It could make a difference in a close race.

| Sigh.....so much hope here before 11-2. What happened to the all the people my parents warned me about? How has the country become such a haven for ignorance? |
