| Yes, I read about that silliness. But that 'tear off the arm to kill T. rex" and fire breathing like mythical dragons really is something was put forth by Hovind. I don't know if he's still using it today, but wouldn't be at all suprised if he was. What is suprising, and not a little discourging, is that so many otherwise intelligent people listen to the fool.
Heh, nowhere does he explain exactly how getting to the arm to tear it off was done, what with the fire-breathing, and as high off the ground as they were, and all those teeth -- oh, wait, in those days there be giants! They wore armored, asbestos suits, and, and, and... Hovind is a prime candidate for Bedlam.

| quote:Perhaps, but I've known many of these people, and still do, and they are damned good farmers, mechanics, machinests, carpenters, fabricators, and so forth. They are devoted to their families and take good care of them. You can't do that and be entirely stupid. Their weakness is that they were taught their superstitions through their generations and continue to pass them along to their prodgeny. Hovind has the gift of gab, and they listen to him because he sounds like their fathers.Originally posted by Starman

| Well, there are many aspects of intelligence and otherwise intelligent people sometimes does really stupid things. Believing dr dino is a really stupid thing. He is a classic snake oil salesman.

I wish I could see Kent try his arm pulling technique on a hungry T-Rex . Fire breathing or not.
As we are short on T-rexes maybe a pissed of Ostrich would do? They have kind of similar front limbs.

| I love it, I fucking love it. Killing a T-Rex by pulling off it's arm off. I only wish the T-Rex's were still alive to see all the lawsuits Hovind would be facing for saying such nonsense.
God, that's just absolutely fucking hilarious.

| Someone, I forget whom, has a standing offer open to Hovind, so that Hovind will be able to demonstrate this technique on a live alligator (or crocodile, I forget). One would think that their forelegs are smaller (and so more weakly-attached) than a T. rex's. I'd pay a lot of money for a ticket to see Hovind try. |
