YO:

If it weren't for the wintry, snowy weather at this Virginia locale, one might mistake it for Baghdad Tech. The shooter should've waited till Hitler's birthday, which is Friday: just about Waco Day in America (maybe it should be Wacko Day). Then there's little Timmy pullin' his infamous celebratory pranks in OKC. And how can we forget Columbine, also on Hitler's BD, April 20th? If I were writing copy for a commercial for this, we'd start off with: "It's April Madness now at Billy Bob's Gun Shop in suburban.....etc."

Cretins like this should be on the muzzle end of a weapon in Iraq---doing their freakin' duty.

OY, in the worst vay!!!

Sorry, but this updated headline off CNN must be posted here and now: "Killer reportedly dressed in Boy Scout-type outfit"

I ask you, how sick can it get? OY!

And of course, the cretins at Answers in Genesis have to put in their two cents:
quote:
It's also important to understand a concept that AiG presents in the book How Could a Loving God … ? We read there:

Only the person who believes in God has a basis to make moral judgments to determine what is “good” and what is “bad.” Those who claim God does not exist have absolutely no authority upon which to call something right or wrong. If God doesn't exist, who can objectively define what is good and what is bad? What basis could there be to make such judgments? The atheist has no basis upon which to call anything good or bad. They can talk about good and bad, and right and wrong—but it's all relative, it's all arbitrary. What's “good” in one person's mind might be completely “bad” in another's.
Of course, from a biblical perspective, God must have morally good and just reasons as to why He allows bad things to happen. For instance, Christ's death on the Cross was an evil event, but God allowed this for a wonderful purpose: to redeem sinful human beings.

Gotta love that arrogance; only xians like them can judge as to whether something is "good" or "evil"...yet when one points out the atrocities of the OT god in killing off babies and pregnant women, people like these defend those actions!

Absolute morality my ass!

What brought that on? this. Original posting here.

Another example of this guy's lunacy here.

First and foremost, I hope Ricky is OK.

Second and third, Ken Ham is completely insane.

The foundation of morality is to . . . give up pretending to believe that for which there is no evidence, and repeating unintelligible propositions about things beyond the possibliities of knowledge.

Yeah I PM'ed him earlier. He was showing as on-line at the time.

My US geography is pretty atrocious at the best of times, but I thought Ricky was in that area. Does anyone know where he attends school? I seriously hope the concern proves to be unfounded.

John's just this guy, you know.

YO! In response to The_Ignored, above, in this thread: Well, I'm certainly not going to ignore you and your response to my rant about wackos who like to put bullets in innocent folks because the gun person is having a bad hair day or caught his lover or spouse humping another.

What never ceases to amaze about the other cretins, to which you refer in this thing called "AIG," is, in their defining of god or God---or however one is to spell it---the low class (read it as: supernatural sky god or cosmic peeping Tom) way they construct Him or Her or It in their "minds." If there is One, or a committee of Them........ They/It/He/She are/is a whole lot more complex and significant than these jerk-offs are opining in their arrogant myopia. Need I say also that in their stupidity they are also dangerous? Has anyone taken a stroll on a Baghdad street lately besides John McCain and an accompanying small battalion of armed Blackwater corporate troops?

And, has anyone, lately, contemplated just how fucking big the universe is, and how terribly insignificant each of us is?!!!

God must be laughing His beneficent ass off.

OY, yet again + Vay!

Yup, that's my school. I was coming out of Abstract Algebra when we saw the first police cars and ambulances. I didn't really think much of it, but joined a small crowd (5-7 people) at the window watching. I moved to the other side of the building and saw that they had surrounded Norris, about 100 meters away from me. Word quickly spread to stay inside buildings. After a short while, we started seeing people running out of Norris, many with their hands above their heads, being escorted by police officers. One older man (from what I hear, professor) had his entire left sleeve dripping in blood. We watched as police went in with their guns drawn, but couldn't see anything once they were inside. After a while of waiting (hour or two), we saw them search the roof, and shortly after that a police officer came through my building telling everyone to slowly and calmly head back to where you live.

As far as I know, they're still not allowing cars to enter campus, though anyone can leave. Classes are canceled until Wednesday.

But yes, I'm alright, and I know of no one personally who was injured.

Why continue? Because we must. Because we have the call. Because it is nobler to fight for rationality without winning than to give up in the face of continued defeats. Because whatever true progress humanity makes is through the rationality of the occasional individual and because any one individual we may win for the cause may do more for humanity than a hundred thousand who hug their superstitions to their breast.

Not that I know of Filthy. I've been getting news from the typical media sources. I live off campus, and I haven't been back since the incident.

YO: Ricky. So glad you're okay, man. I live not far from Stockton, CA where there was another awful incident like this some years ago at a grade school.

Take care, dude.

I'm glad you are OK too. I hope you don't find out anyone close to you died when the lists come out. Apparently the librarian at my son's high school has a nephew who was one of the wounded but he's OK.

It's so sad. I give you another day, Ricky, and I'll bet it will hit you like a ton of bricks. I'm emotional and I have no connection to anyone there. It's just a tad stressful and very depressing.

32 people is just sooo many.

Well, there will always be people who try to use this as an example to support their ideas on something, but the good thing is that Ricky is alive and well. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst shootings in the U.S. as far as educational institutions are concerned.
