Hello all,

I hope it's not too ill-mannered to plug our show on the forum. I just wanted to mention that the latest podcast episode is online at http://popularcrackpot.com (along with other goodies).

Highlights this week include:

* Why do crackpots believe what they believe?
* What about the social aspect of fringe beliefs?
* A Leprechaun hunt in Alabama.
* What the British know about TV that Americans should learn.
* Keen Eddie, Alan Partridge and more TV talk.
* Would you go on a chupacabra hunt?
* Finally, hate mail! Keep it coming!
* How you can use the A-Team to test your mental health.

Hope you folks enjoy.

Thanks a bunch,
Jason

Hey, I just missed hitting that Leprechaun with my shovel.

What a man believes upon grossly insufficient evidence is an index into his desires -- desires of which he himself is often unconscious. If a man is offered a fact which goes against his instincts, he will scrutinize it closely, and unless the evidence is overwhelming, he will refuse to believe it. If, on the other hand, he is offered something which affords a reason for acting in accordance to his instincts, he will accept it even on the slightest evidence. The origin of myths is explained in this way. - Bertrand Russell

It's hard to believe, but we keep getting reports of people going on Leprechaun hunts. Amazing...

You gotta admit that hunting the little buggers is more challenging than, say, shooting farm-raised quail on a Texas ranch. What weapons are people using, by the way?

Edit: I watched the video. The only weapon mentioned seems to be a magical flute.

We've heard of everything from machetes to baseball bats.

I wonder if we can put leprechauns on the endangered species list...

Well, there certainly aren't many of them these days.

I would only ask that you put all your announcements in a single thread, instead of starting a new topic each time. And if you hadn't seen it, we're linking to your new stuff in our weekly Skeptic Summary (scroll down to "Elsewhere in the World").

No problem at all Dave. We'll post only to this thread in future when we want to let folks know about a new ep.

And thanks for linking to us in the Skeptic Summary.

Quick update: we've posted an interview with film-maker Zeb Haradon. Zeb is the director of a documentary called "Waiting for NESARA." The movie is a feature length fly-on-the-wall documentary which explores a group of ex-Mormon new age devotees as they wait for UFO helpers to abolish the IRS, prevent the Iraq war, and expose Bush as the perpetrator of the September 11th attacks.

Check it out at http://popularcrackpot.com/

Seriously, you guys should watch the trailer at the least. You'd be amazed at what these guys believe in. Or maybe you wouldn't.... At any rate, it's worth the wait.

I appreciate you guys letting me post about the show, we're still growing so any little bit of publicity helps :-)

Thanks all,
Jason

Unfortunately, it looks like the Popular Crackpot website has been taken down.
