All those action panels must have taken hours!

Yeah, it really required a lot of choreography, too, especially the complex tantric yoga scenes.

To show subtle things like pain and concern so well on the faces of cartoon characters is nothing short of genius.

I'm too modest to agree. I'll just let what you said stand without comment.

I believe the simplicity of the drawings epitomizes the isolation of the individuals involved as a shared experience. Whatever the f... that means.

Anyway, to me, it sure beats the crap out of those dancing shadow people.

Yes, thank you. It's very existential. Whatever the f... that means.

As an actual question-- why do you break up the word balloons like you do in some panels? I mean, in panels 3, 5, and 6, it seems that it's all better if it's in one large balloon, and not broken into two, you know? Or is it a problem with the program or something you're doing to insert that?

My bet is that he had completely different dialog in the first draft, and just didn't feel like changing the balloons around.

Actually, that is a problem. I'm usually using a set of speech balloons I've found on the Web. Those aren't always large enough for my text, without either enlarging the (and thus making their borders not match the other balloons), or having to use the multi-part balloons supplied. I acknowledge this, and I do promise to try to correct this flaw.

The balloons I'm getting are all on large "sheets" in .EPS format. They are easy to delete and then replace. I just don't have enough variety in terms of sizes. I tend to rewrite the text to make it fit, more often than I change balloon sizes, though.

I got the balloons here: http://www.blambot.com/balloons.shtml

Easy, yeah. But sloppy, if the borders get thicker or thinner in the process. See "The Dings do Ahmadinejad" for horrible examples.

You do know that webdings has some word balloons in it, and they scale pretty good. Purists might argue that you should use them, with white text pasted over top, or otherwise you're not being as Ding as you can be.

Well, I've decided not to be entirely pure, as alien as that view of me may seem to most of you. I hope to be changing styles to a disturbing and disorienting degree. While maybe keeping Webb and Ling Ding as they are. I may indeed try some dingbat speech balloons. I do have some.
