I've got a dog, 3 cats, a cockatiel, tropical fish and 2 horses. The cats, one of the horses and the dog reduce my stress. The fish are neutral. The other horse is jumpy and a pain in the ass to handle which is stressful. But the bird - that freaking bird. I feed the little jerk every day and every day he trys to attack me. Mean spirited little bastard trys to bite me and if he gets a hold of you he will draw blood. The kids and wife think it is a riot.

So I assigned a factor to each of the animals and put it into a 4th order nonlinear differential equation. I come up with the result that I should live about 3 hours and 27 minutes longer because of the animals. I will also have spent about $143,352 on food, houses, cages, tack, fences, vet bills, yada, yada, yada.

Now I'm really stressed out...

If I knew then what I know now then I would know more now than I know.

This discussion reminds me of a generalisation that I've found to be generally true.

Dogs have owners. Cats have staff.

John's just this guy, you know.
