           	| I've been fascinated by Tesla coils ever since I was 12, when I got excited by watching one operating at the New York World's Fair in 1940! So I went home and built one. It made about a 15 inch discharge which scared the shit out of my poor momma. I have often wondered why someone besides old Nick didn't build a really big one! here in New Zealand!

| Thanks Dave, you are a severe taskmaster! However, after several years herding kindergarteners like me, I can understand your impatience! I need praise, how am I doing?

| In a Chapters (big Canadian bookstore chain), I once saw a book on wild amatuer science (things like people making "death rays" from microve ovens, trying to fuse hydrogen in their garage etc. One of the chapters concerned a monster Tesla coil that someone made for a Tesla coil competition. I am not sure what would be more entertaiing at such a contest - the Tesla coils or the people who made them. |

| Just think, Mooner, if it hadn't been for Nicola, we would all be hard-wired to storage batteries or straight-line generators, General Electric would own the entire world instead of just a good piece of it, Edison's ancestors would be richer than the Walton's, and Larry Craig wouldn't have an identity crisis (no AC,just DC!)
god, we owe a lot to Tesla!
