Big Tent Conclave Promotes Academic Freedom, Obedience to Olympus

San Luis Obispo, California, March 8, 2008 (OP) -- Classical Creationists and allied thinkers are holding "Theogenesis 2008," an unprecedented seminar in this normally-quiet university town.

The gathering of Classical scholars, Pagans and a scattering of both rogue scientists and open-minded Judeo-Christian theologians represents a "big tent" approach by skeptics opposed to both scientific origin theories and the Biblical Genesis story.

Porque Pigg, of Solutions in Theogeny, a hard-core Nyxian fundamentalist cult, led off a varied list of speakers.

"For thousands of years, we have been told lies by both science and the Abrahamists," said Pigg. "The age of the earth is an egregious case in point. For either Biblical or scientific creation to have been even remotely possible, these deceivers need the lie that the earth is a mere six thousand to four and a half billion years old. Yet the Theogeny of Hesiod proves these numbers are utter nonsense, for we know that black-winged Nyx sat alone in the dark void for an endless period before her egg hatched and its shell split into the earth and heavens. Whenever science or Abrahamism contradicts Theogeny, we know that we can always rely upon the inerrant word of Hesiod."

Mathematician Dr. Dr. Bill Billbill of Portland's Discus Institute think tank had a somewhat different approach, citing what he called the "Committee Planning Inference."

"The chaos observed throughout the Cosmos," droned Billbill, "constitutes a priori evidence that everything that exists was created by a large and unruly collection of very powerful, contending, omnipotent entities or agencies. Science is only a way of dealing with reality, and Abrahamism is merely a religious belief. CPI is an eye-opening new paradigm that should be considered along with these other beliefs."

Also from the Discus Institute, attorney K.C. Dustbin pointed with horror to recent court decisions that prevent public schools from teaching that Greek myths constitute alternative theories that should be considered by students. "We are supposed to be an open society," said Dustbin, "so why do we slam the doors of academia in the faces of the Olympians?"

Droopy Dog-Dog, the well known cartoon character, lawyer and Olympian rap singer, held a private screening of his documentary movie, "Triumph of the Bill," which is said to be a hard-hitting film about the persecution of Dr. Dr. Bill Billbill and other CPI proponents.

The working press was excluded from the screening, but several attendees said the Dog-Dog movie graphically shows how CPI supporters are being systematically excluded from church Bingo games, and from picnics held by scientists. "Just like the Nazis did at Auschwitz," remarked one viewer. "The movie showed us how the Abrahamic-Darwinian machine asserts its monolithic and draconian might to destroy the careers of honest skeptics."

Biology is just physics that has begun to smell bad.” —HalfMooner
