Naw, the rules are the same even for you SELF PROPELLED SANDBAGS.
I had a leatherneck roomie in Airborne School. Great guy but headed for EOD training, so not too damn bright.
The Corps should be the model of all the armed forces. It's the only one that is a true Land, Sea, Air battle group. The Army needs Harriers.
But the Corps doesn't have any Special Operations units, which are so near and dear to my heart.
Hey I know, let's all just gang up on the Coast Guard!

No way, man. Those guys actually work. They are undermanned and underfunded (more so than the DoD services, I think), trying to chase top-of-the-line cocaine boats up the coasts. They also have to go rescue every dumb-ass boater who goes out in foul weather and gets lost or falls out of his yacht, or rescue Alskan fishermen in freezing water. As a Naval officer (prior E), I have nothing but respect for the Coast Guard.

I have to say as a former Coastie 2 big thumbs up Boron :>

As a radio man (was changed to telecommunications specialists to be more PC right before I got out) imagine having to deal with a distress call from a paniced boater or worst yet a fisherman who can't speak English :<

The pilots (both small boat and helicopter) along with the crazy rescue swimmers have to be some of the most dangerous jobs out there.

I wasn't serious you know.
Hell, the CG does real world ops everyday. And like cops, you never know what's gonna happen when you stop someone. The CG gets a bad rap, but they do alot of good work. Now that they're slated for a big budget increase, they'll be that much more efective. Give 'em Harriers too! A smuggler turboprop may run from a Blackhawk, but let's see outrun a AIM-9 Sidewinder rammed up thier tail pipe!

Be your own god!
