Read the statement by the Deputy Solicitor General.

Did I miss something? Was Section 1, Article 9, paragraph 2 of the US Constitution activated? Was Amendment 4 of the US Constitution repealed? Did 105 years of case law about the Fourth Amendment become irrelevant?

The Justice Department is so over the edge it's not even funny. I've already written my Congressmen on this issue.

I really don't care if we are at "war" or not. If you consider what Bush said about Atheists not really citizens or patriots a lot of people that read this board should be worried. What if the president decides to wage a war against the faithless next? It seems he can declare any war he wants.

Now, now, Atomic...We shouldn't speak so harshly of the administration. Justice may find such words a little too conspiratorial, and we will not need a "war against the faithless" to find ourselves enemy combatants.

And Valiant, I seriously doubt that the Deputy Solicitor General, or his boss, (or his boss), have a clue as to what the 4th Amendment really says--Or the 5th,(I did not see where any of those persons mentioned in the article could be deprived their day in court because they were US citizens serving in the military, as exception to the first clause of the 5th). And, that's what scares the hell outta me.

We're governed by idiots! (Was that too harsh?)
